Dataset structure
The compilation is organized in individual files containing the information reported in publications or cruise reports. Using all the data included in the individual files, we have created an autonomous repository of Th-234 where you can search for specific files and data.

The repository can be also managed by using the Sea of Thorium Map to explore the data.
Each individual compiled file:
- is classified by the name of the first author of the publication, dataset in repository or unpublished data.
- contains Data and a Metadata sections.
- contains data that are part of i) transect cruises ii) small-scale surveys iii) reoccupation of the same station at different seasons or years iv) time-series. All data reported in the corresponding publication or report are include in the same individual data file regardless being part of different expeditions.
In the Data section of the files you will find, among others, the following data: total Th-234 concentrations, dissolved Th-234 concentrations, particulate Th-234 concentrations, POC:Th-234 ratios, PON:Th-234 ratios, U-238 concentrations, POC concentrations, PON concentrations, temperature, salinity, etc.
In the Metadata section of the files you will find, among others, the following data: cruise(s) details, ocean and regions, sampling period, bloom stage (categorized as pre-bloom, bloom, post-bloom, and non-bloom), sampling methods, additional data to be found in the publication, data source: Journal, author, DOI, etc.
