Methods

Total_234th_method 1000-2000L collected with the battery-powered submersible pumping systems

Dissolved_234th_method calculated using the formula MnA/E x V where V is the sampled volume as recorded by the flow meter attached to the pumping system. Values of E usually ranged from 0.7 to 1.0 and over the range of flow rates used

Particulate_234th_method each pump was fitted with a single 142-mm diameter filter holder that held a stack of three different filters

Comments first sampling occurred during the 1991-1992 El Nio
